Saddle-Stitch Booklets FAQs

Why must my page count be a multiple of 4?

Saddle-stitch booklets are made from folded sheets, each producing four pages. So your total page count (cover included) must divide by four — 8, 12, 16, 20, 24… If it doesn't, we'll add blanks or ask you to adjust.

How do I count pages — is the cover included?

Yes. Count every side as a page. A booklet with a front and back cover, inside-front and inside-back, plus 12 inner sides = 16 pages. The cover is four of your total, not extra.

Should I send single pages or spreads?

Send single pages in reading order (1, 2, 3…) as one multi-page PDF. Don't impose them into spreads — our system arranges the pages for folding automatically.

What bleed and setup do you need?

3mm bleed on all sides, 300dpi, CMYK, fonts embedded, one PDF. Keep important text at least 5mm inside the trim. Download our DL/A5/A4/Square templates.

What paper do you use?

Our Standard build is 130–150gsm satin text pages with a 250–300gsm cover. Want a laminated or heavier cover (Premium/Deluxe)? Just ask and we'll quote it.

What is the minimum order?

From just 50 copies — ideal for café menus, event programmes or small zine runs. Per-unit price drops sharply at 100, 250 and 500.

How long does it take?

Standard 2–5 working days once artwork is approved. Because we print, fold and staple in-house in Mount Maunganui, we can often turn short runs around faster — just ask.

Do you do perfect-bound or wire-O?

We specialise in saddle-stitch (stapled spine), which is perfect up to around 40 pages. For thicker perfect-bound or wire-O books we can point you to a partner.
